Location Photography

As commercial photography goes, we have been in the industry for many years now, would you believe approaching 25 years!  My point to this is generally, we have been there, seen it before, taken the shots and got the T-shirt etc.

One of our clients, HNS Signs often ask us to go and carry out some location photography to take shots of their latest projects, the most recent was quite unusual and something that we had not seen before.

The installation had several elements and the fitting was staggered over 2 visits.

The first part of the project, they produced customised wallpaper that they applied in the client’s learning centre, we didn’t photograph the paper hanging but we returned when all was dry. We set about taking commercial photographs, as they were  fitting some very special 3D letters that had an extra dimension of having black string across them in a random pattern, the result was a powerful message delivered in a striking way.

We had to use some directional lighting to help get relief  and highlight the letters standing off the wall.

Seen here is the template being set up so that the letters are perfectly spaced and level. The end result is very impressive.

The second area where HNS were installing, also had custom designed and printed wallpaper, this incorporated the company logo, and some geometric designs, again with a twist of having some of the shapes in 3D. We took some shots of the letters being applied as well as overall view of the end product. Once more, we needed some directional lighting to show the relief of the letters standing off the wall, a great way of adding colour and interest to the office environment.

The third and final area was a meeting room, where ideas are allowed to flow.

Yet more specifically designed custom wallpaper was produced, the twist with this was in the centre of the design was a cloud shaped white board that had to be fitted after the wallpaper had been installed and was dry.
