Taking shots of clothing is not just about the clothing as strange as it may sound.
So what do you need to consider?
The Style, the brand, the execution of the shots, can make or break the shoot.
If the brand is relatively conservative, then it wouldn’t be suitable to take shots with a gritty urban background and similarly if it was quite an aggressive clothing style you don’t really want to “dumb down”.
Sometimes items are shot in the studio with calmer less contrasty lighting as it is important for the customer to actually see the garments, rather than it be all about the lifestyle.
