What does a whirlwind six months look like for a photography team with over 30+ years of commercial experience? It looks like a lot of motorway miles, incredible food, brilliant clients and hundreds of cups of coffee!
Lately, our Behind the Lens journey has taken us all over the map. We have travelled from the sunny, sandy coast of Bournemouth all the way up to the busy, vibrant streets of Manchester. It has been busy, exciting, and deeply rewarding. As a fully DBS-checked team, Darren and Julie have been doing what they do best: creating beautiful images that help businesses stand out, while making sure the entire process is stress-free, safe, and friendly.

1. Commercial Food Photography: A Delicious Journey
We have truly eaten our way through our workload over the last six months! Food photography has been a major highlight for us recently, and we have had the pleasure of working with some incredible chefs, restaurants, and food brands.
Our cameras have captured a massive variety of dishes:

The Craft Behind the Food
Great food photography isn’t just about pointing a camera at a plate. It is a true art form that relies heavily on speed and lighting. Food changes quickly under studio lights, salad leaves wilt, ice melts, and sauces can lose their glossy shine.
Our job is to make sure the food looks just as mouth-watering on camera as it does on the plate when it first leaves the kitchen. We use specialist lighting techniques to highlight textures, control reflections on glassware, and make the food look fresh and irresistible.
